OUR IDEA

Venice is a Fish is not only an apartment: this project stems from the idea to rethink the very concept of tourist accommodation: not just places where you can stay, but places where you can live. Places where artistic creations, design and modern art coexist harmoniously, where nothing is left to chance.

OUR IDEA

Venice is a Fish is not only an apartment: this project stems from the idea to rethink the very concept of tourist accommodation: not just places where you can stay, but places where you can live. Places where artistic creations, design and modern art coexist harmoniously, where nothing is left to chance.

KAMI ZEKIYAN

Kami Zekiyan is the Roman Artist who was chosen to create the work “Venice is A Fish”: a geographic map, composed by different mirrors, oxidised on purpose until obtaining the colour of the lagoon. A big fish, made of brass “patches” usually used to repair boats. The city, a floating one, is defined by sestrieri traced out in Venetian red. Venice has existed from time immemorial; this city has been sailing from the dawn of time: it reached every harbour and rubbed every banks.

KANZ

Kanz is a planning office based in Venice that is also involved in product design: influenced by their land of belonging, they are particularly fascinated by glass, a material through which they tried their hand at experimenting innovative forms and processes, thanks to the collaboration of passionate artisans who contribute to the realization of projects with their experience and dedication, demonstrating a flexible attitude in sharing their desire to trace new routes.

ARCHIVIO CAMERA PHOTO EPOCHE

Vittorio Pavan keeps a photo archive about Venice in the 1940s: from celebrities on the red carpet, to the floods and boats parades. An all-Venetian poem, which meticulously traces back a detailed and charming history of the city. In our apartment you can find numerous pictures about funny events: the elephants of the Togni Circus crossing the city’s bridges in the 1950s; the pelicans in Piazza San Marco; waterskiing with the hydro-skis patented by Giulio Campelli in 1947. The pictures selected have one thread in common: the water, where Venice is A Fish sails, between past eras and modern design.

DESIGN CIRCOLARE

Circular design. Unique accessories of modern antique collecting decorate Venice is A Fish: from Tobia Scarpa’s pieces of design, to the 1980s lagoon-coloured sofas made by Moroso. The furniture recalls the Italian history, emphasizing design and re-use economy. Come and experience Venice in full comfort, surrounded by the charm of Italian design!
